Case Reviews

Case Reviews - Intake

Supervisors must complete and submit case reviews, as established by the supervisory review criteria. It is recommended that cases be reviewed prior to case transfer, to ensure accuracy, and that the highest quality of service is provided to our clients.

Case Reviews - Continuing

Reviews for continuing cases can be identified using two different methods. They are:

  • Supervisor and Manager discretion, or
  • Computer generated.

Supervisor and Manager Discretion

When the Supervisor conducts case reviews on their own, cases will be reviewed randomly through CalSAWS. There are several methods that can be used to select these cases. Some examples are:

  • Reviewing cases with REs that were completed in the previous month
  • Trends discovered from QC/QA reviews, case rejects, etc.
  • Cases with SAR 7 processed and variable income
  • Targeted high error prone cases identified by the Corrective Action Steering Committee
  • Specific regulations in which the unit appears to be having difficulties
  • Cases affected by new regulations
  • Cases requiring corrective action, which are identified by the CAPT, etc.

Computer Generated

A random sample of 32 cases per unit is uploaded into the CARMA To-Do-List on the 20th of each month.

Under certain circumstances, (i.e., the CalFresh error rate is above the Federal Tolerance Level and the agency is subject to financial sanctions), special inquiries will be run, and listings of random case samples will be distributed to Supervisors with specific cases to review.
